My Current Mood:
:: Thursday, March 21, 2002 :: My dad took me to see Annie Get Your Gun on Tuesday evening. It was semi-enjoyable I suppose. I had a huge problem with how the "Indian characters" were being portrayed though. I found it insulting how they seemingly went out of their way to make fun of themselves. The great Lakota Sioux Indian, Sitting Bull, is characterized in the play as some overweight white guy whose buffoonery makes a mockery of all Sitting Bull stands for. Although, I don't know what's worse, those "actors" having the audacity to do such a thing or the audience who laughed (!), including my own father (!), right along. God it was just disgusting. I'm just glad I didn't pay to see it or else I would've asked for my money back.
