Well I thought my DSL would be skewered today but apparently it's still working (much to my amazement). I wanted to write last night about my Warped Tour experience but was plum tuckered out (thought I'd slip a lil' boonie reference in there).

The show was at Riverbend and I went with the sole intention of seeing my favorite punk band, Bad Religion. It started at noon and they were scheduled for about 6:30 which I was peeved about since I wasn't all that interested in spending the next 5 to 6 hours waiting for them. Not like I had a choice anyway! So I saw a few other bands that were good (Autopilot Off, Thursday, The Eyeliners). A bit too much sun got me so I'm slightly burned but not too bad though... I guess you could say it just builds character.

I did a lot of walking around and sitting in the pavilion. Paid "bend-over-just-a-little-farther-please" prices for water and a crappy hot dog. Ticketmaster and Riverbend are becoming such bloated entities it makes me cry out for communism. Something... Anything! That would make me cry less when I part with almost $50 or $60 for just one freaking ticket, then almost $10 just to keep myself properly hydrated.

Anyway... I got into the front stage area after MxPx left and waited 30 min. for BR to get on stage. Normally wouldn't have been annoyed but when your crammed against seemingly over 100 sweaty, nasty, ugly guys for any length of time, it can be a bit mood altering. The show was great. I think I was able to manage three or four unbalanced photos. It's rough down front but I must say there is a really beautiful thing in being less than ten feet away from one of your favorite bands, feeling the bass run through your body since your so close, and signing along with a huge throng of people back at the lead singer. Totally fucking beautiful indeed.
