Read a new short by David Sedaris in the Feb. 2002 issue of Esquire magazine yesterday. It's called "Mr. Popular" and it satiated my Sedaris fix for now. You can read it online here.

There is also a great article, if you want to call it an article, called "The Secret Lives of Suburban Stoners". The preface goes like this: Meet the Sunday-school teacher with the one-hitter, the hostess with the tasteful antiques and the after-dinner joints, and the home-crafts entrepreneur who deals on the side. A surprising story of life in the suburbs.

The author is Anonymous and the article isn't online so if you want to read it you'll have to buy it, or it least stand there for about 5 or 10 minutes to read it but I found it to be quite the intriguing thing.

BTW I acquired "Barrel Fever" the other day and will commence upon it as soon as "Me Talk Pretty One Day" is complete (yes I'm stilllll working on it ... savoring every last letter).
